My problem with sell outs is that a lot of times they change styles to appeal more to the general public. Linkin Park stopped rapping, Nickelback turned into pussies and lost any edge they once had, and avril lavigne is a cheerleader instead of a songwriter. It's harder to see this problem in artists because they're styles change naturally over time.
Generally I don't care, cause ppl have to make money... but my problem is with the sell outs that "forget where they came from" and treat everyone like they're below him/her... yeah that's it.
So, you do some stuff, and people seem to like it. You do more stuff, and more people like it. Then you hit it big and everyone wants what you do. You start garnering respect in the art world and making money hopefully. Then they call you a sellout because you can actually make a living off what you make.
Or, you make some stuff from the heart and then hit it big, and just start making the same shit because that's what people want. Then I'd say someone was a sellout if they did that.
I DO care, think about it, if there's a person who betrays himself just to get more money or just some stuff, that would mean that person would easily betray you in the same way, or even worse. So, sell-outs are selfish and unworthy ppl, saty away from them. The world is just too selfish to even stay by ppl like that. Or something.
Yeah i can see what your saying! But if a persons has a family to take care of then money does become an issue! I feel like it all depends on that persons situation.
I guess! I mean i look at it diffrently cause i do have mouths to feed! So really nothing means more to me then that! But hey everybody gotta do whats best for them!

And some people become better when they become famous.
It's all about how they retain the formula, I guess.
