If I made an artbook filled with headshots of popular characters from different properties that I redesigned (like my Batman series), would you buy it? Oh, and I love comments.
Mike - Making an artbook of your work sounds great! Are you selling it at a show? or giving out as a gift as to promote yourself? any other way, you may have to worry about royalty fees.
Think about it this way, you're going to make a book of 15 to 20 pages and chances are it will be a soft cover like a comic. The characters will have their own copyrights.
Comic book characters sell licenses- that's how they generate money. The owners of the copyrights will want their cut. You need a license to sell their product. Just be careful, thats all I'm saying.
I would prefer to see your original characters with your amazing style & rendering.
Just some friendly advice from one fellow artist to another.

I was very inspired by them and started working on my own version of Superman and co.
If you make a artbook I would be very interested in it. I have a title for you too, Mike Henry's Head Case.
