There's a law in physics for that, but it escapes me. Equal force of distribution? Gah. In simple terms, if you can take the pain while punching, you can take the pain of being punched.
This is like choosing between the sharpest sword or the strongest shield... I choose the ability to deliver a punch, purely because IT IS an "action" - while, the other, I personally consider, "inaction"... nobody ever acomplished anything by getting him/herself beaten up.
Take the punch, because just delivering a punch doesn't mean it'll be a good punch worth mentioning. Now, seeing a punch coming, and landing a knockout punch before theirs even reaches, THATS badass
