10MP: Do you think video games should require the player to have the physical, real-world skill (i.e. be more skilled in tennis to better play a tennis game)?
While I don't think it's necessary, I don't think that makes it a detriment either, i.e. those who think Wii Sports doesn't "count" as a videogame because there's no button pressing.
Honestly, I think both forms can count as games, but "should require" the physical equivalent to be good at it? Not even!
No, but. I also don't take the "Because they're video games" approach. I believe that they should be leveled as they are intended to be. The more you play, the better you are. I would rather have the game's AI effective in terms of starting you from the very start at Beginner's level. As you develop physical skill by playing the game, the game gradually increases its difficulty, much like you would in any task you complete. I believe that it would increase the passion of something for those who use to play games just to pass the time and was never productive. This way, it is productive and entertaining. Too many people seperate playing games from playing something in real life. It's all about taking up the time with something you enjoy doing. Why not kill two birds with one stone by allowing actual knowledge and skill to develop from said types of games?
Dear God NO! Can you imagine how much trouble we would be in if there were a million 13 year olds head-shotting people and then tea bagging them in real life???
You play games to /escape/ from the lame constraints and do something awesome. If I have to be good at tennis to play a tennis game, it defeats the purpose.
I don't think that they SHOULD require that, as they are just well, video games.
As a sidenote, for example in football (soccer) games it does help that you understand the sport a little and have an eye for the game. This is probably the case with most of the other sports games, but as I don't have much experience of them it's hard to say for certain.
No. One, cuz it would be imposible for someone to play more than 3 games, or even 1 lol. And because, if you play Killzone, you've got to be good at shooting people? No no, we don't want that. Neither we want some Ninja Assasins ... and they'r some others that are not posible, like ... Monster Hunter. What would you be good at to play MH? I mean, you can't lift really big swords and kill really bigs monsters/dinosaurs. So YEAH, NO THANKS, NOT HAPPENING.
Now, i've got a question. How the fuck did you come up with this? xD Such a weird thing lol
Yeap. Then, playing the game would theoretically make you better at the real life skill If that were to happen I ( and many others ) would be awesome at some real life skillz, lol.
