the only thing i culd recommend would be maybe a little more detail, like on step 3 when you started adding the main colour did u use the pen tool, just the brush tool, etc. let us know what your method is.
or maybe you dont wana give your precious secrets away

I duplicated the text, rasterized it, blurred it, put it underneath the text and then colorized it.
